Safety & care

Deploy into existing sites without rewiring, alterations or interrupting operations

When an older person falls or remains inactive for an unusually long time, Lindos OS combines millimetre-wave radar, safety wristbands and carer locations to notify the nearest available carer and shorten arrival time.

Before & after

Today

Care homes need to respond promptly to falls and calls for help. Cameras cannot be used in private areas such as bathrooms, so a fall or prolonged inactivity may go unnoticed. With fewer carers on duty at night, staff need to call around to find who is nearby and available.

With Lindos OS

The system combines millimetre-wave radar in private areas with safety wristbands to detect falls, unusual inactivity and abnormal heart rates. Using carers' locations and current assignments, the system notifies the nearest available carer and alerts the nursing station to prepare. Each response records the time and staff member involved for the care provider and family to review.

Example notification
Lindos OS | NotificationToilet 305

Radar detects a fall in toilet 305, and the wristband shows a raised heart rate.

Care worker B is closest at 8 metres but busy. Care worker A is available, 10 metres away.

Suggested action:Notify care worker A to attend immediately. Inform the nurses' station and prepare a wheelchair.

Based on: bathroom millimetre-wave radar, wristband heart-rate and location data, and carers' locations and current assignments.

Typical use cases

Safety and care for older peopleHealthcare & careRecord residents' presence, activity and calls for help, and alert carers according to urgency.
Today

Care homes need to respond promptly when residents get up, move around or call for help. There are fewer carers on duty at night. When families ask, the provider needs to explain how staff responded.

With Lindos OS

Lindos OS prioritises information about residents' presence, activity and calls for help by urgency, then alerts the appropriate carer. Urgent matters trigger immediate alerts; routine matters are grouped according to configured rules. Each response records the time and staff member involved for the care provider and family to review.

How it works
  1. No images capturedSensors record only presence, activity and calls for help, without capturing images.
  2. Alerts by urgencySend immediate alerts for urgent matters and grouped reminders for routine matters.
  3. Keep a record of every responseRecord the time and staff member involved in every response.
Questions

Common questions

Does the site need alterations?

No. Deploy into your existing site without rewiring, alterations or interrupting operations. Attach, wear or position the sensors and plug in the receivers. Quantities and locations are agreed after a site survey.

How small can we start?

Start with one floor. Review the results before deciding whether to expand.

How are results measured?

Before starting, both parties agree on measures such as time to detect an incident, carer arrival time, response time to calls for help and response record completeness. Record the baseline, then compare results using the same definitions.

Are residents and families informed?

Agree in advance with the provider, residents and families on what will be recorded, who can view it and how it will be used. Sensors do not capture images. Carer response records are used to coordinate care and answer families' questions, not for performance appraisal or financial penalties.

Will cameras be installed in bathrooms?

No. Private areas such as bathrooms use only millimetre-wave radar, without cameras.

Do we need to connect existing systems?

Connect existing systems as needed, such as care staff scheduling and nurse call systems. Agree the integration scope before the project starts.

Who provides operational support?

Lindos delivers the sensors, Lindos OS, system integrations and operational support. Lindos provides remote support; on-site support is agreed for each project.
